On Saturday 27th February. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Stefan Orchel-Read (again) this time not doing his makeup but creating makeup for his latest A/W 2010/11 collection : Fågeln for the brand new look book.

Meet the models.

Phil: 23 years old from North London, who has been modelling since he was 18.

Leo: 20 years old and has been modelling since 15 years old.

Stef: Who has been modelling since he was 16 years old.

These guys did such an awesome job. I styled their hair and designed their makeup. Check out some of our backstage pictures…

Stefan's new collection was inspired by the samarai and he also wanted to base this collection on the colour brown because that is the hardest colour to work with.
I think that Stefan is super creative and talented and I am so thankful for the opportunity to help out with his fabulous work!

Recently, i've been soul searching and observant. I was told yesterday that I seem focused (then she compared me to her sister who is a year older than I am and said she acts like she is 16.

Obviously i'm gonna take that as a positive :)

I turned 24 on the 19th February 2010.

So what I have been soul searching about you say?

Some of you may or may not know that I used to create music in my teenage years.
I've always been involved with music from young.
I can play the flute and acoustic guitar and am building the strength of my singing voice.

Art, in secondary school was my favourite subject. I have recently bought 2 large blank canvases, some watercolour and acrylic paints with a small palette and some brushes.

The fashion industry is such a popular and hard industry. Lots of people want things for free. But at what point does that stop so you can feed yourself?

I know that God has a plan for everyone. even for me and that is something that I think about alot.

I guess its all about the power of NOW. You don't know what the future holds...

You can be whatever you want to be in life.

Fear is only in your mind.

Don't surrender to it.

With the devastating news about the earthquake in Haiti our prayers are love are needed to the people of this country. I cannot IMAGINE the pain and loss that Haitians are going through.

-UPS has donated $1 million-Nestle has donated $1 million worth of bottled water

-Google has pledged $1 million in support and set up a special page for donations and added updated satellite imagery of the region to Google Maps

-Microsoft has pledged $1.2 million in cash and will match employee contributions of up to $12,000 per worker as a part of their ongoing matching gift program.

-Walmart has donated $500,000 cash and $100,000 in prepackaged food.

-Verizon has pledged $100,000 and will match employee contributions of up to $1,000 per worker.

-Western Union has committed $250,000 in support and is offering no-fee money transfer services to Haiti from the US, Canada and France. www.westernunion.com

-Salesforce.com is matching all donations that come into their website up to $200,000

I would love to see plus sized models TAKEOVER 2010. I am over the waif look.
I mean, not everyone wants to look that. Not everyone can look like that and not everyone wants to develop an eating disorder. I think that the media is so judgemental and people can be so cruel that they are making it harder for equality in the fashion industry.

Women have curves and I want to dedicate this blog to that. So curvy beautiful traffic stopping women. DO YOUR THING.
You are beautiful and don't let anyone tell you any different.

The box office this week in the States is alot...
There are two major movies that I have set my eyes on.
The first one is Precious.

and the main one that has caught my eye for a long time is. 2012.

Now, its 2009 folks, if this is correct does that mean we have 3 years to all live on planet earth?
Are they trying to put a movie like this on the big screen for everyone to watch this so that we are mentally prepared?

I love makeup...
just thought i'd let you guys know.

I love being able to do my own thing in photoshoots aswell.

The theme that the extraordinary photographer Berna V had in mind was Human Origin and a couple of goddess like beauty looks.
The research kicked in for the human origin look.
This was the collage that I created for my mood board.

Here was my beautiful model Nooshin who btw has such an awesome personality. I love working with people who make the day go so smoothly and less stressful on everyone.

I would highly recommend working with both Nooshin and Berna V

My agenda

I've been checkin some really cool blogs on the good ol' world wide web and it's got me thinking.

ANYTHING is possible, If you can dream it. You can do it.

TRUST, I plan to do just that. I'm a dreamer but definitely a go-getter.

I remember my teacher bringing me back to the London College of Fashion 2009 class and me showing them a presentation of my work. The first time it brought tears to her eyes, Nuff love Lucy! You are an inspiration! I remember her saying that I was the only pupil from her class that she could tell stood out, from my personality to my love for art.

She was ever so proud.

I was so nervous but I made sure I came prepared with a video i made on windows movie maker! You can check it out on my YouTube page.

I remember Lucy saying
that "my 'style' is very bold and that i'm not afraid to push boundaries for a complete unique look."

Well I plan to use this in the best way that I can and take this to higher levels. There are more opportunities in the States than in lil' London Town and I'm ready <3

I wrote a blog about my evening on Thursday night gettin my hand wet into makeup and stuff! Then it went coz it likes to "autosave"!
ANYWHO

Got to do a bit of facepaintin for www.ferofero.com @ PUNK nightclub Soho which pretty cool. Very eventful i must say.
I've done a photoshoot in there before like 2 years ago with a tog called 'the mofo'

The model didnt like my makeup but I thought that was the best thing at the whole shoot! lmao

It was cool doin something different. So many people where comin up to me to get a design - guys and girls

This is the lighting i had to work with in the VIP section
but even darker... a challenge but nothin i could not handle ;)

So i've been thinking... In any industry its all about who you know.

Whether its modelling, makeup or music.
For example.

Amber Rose.

She was a nobody, more or less she was just a stripper before she got involved with Kanye West

Now shes signed to Ford models.

I mean, good for her. You know. Its all love but honestly. It really is about networking and knowing someone who knows someone who knows someone.

I've decided that i'm gonna try my best to do all I can do especially in the States. Its all about about making those connections and having a great support system behind you.

I'm getting my mind and body right. Eating properly. No junk, loads of water and exercising every day.

Lately, ive been practising guitar alot more than usual, which is a good thing. I think it helps me to centre my thoughts sometimes. Kinda like therapy.

Short Hair - I'm There

Now, i'm not one to jump on the bandwagon with things. I think that in life, you should always be true to yourself.

I'm always constantly changing my image through hairstyles, fashion and makeup and in 2007

I shaved my hair into a mowhawk and dyed the tips bright red in Virginia Beach.

It was SO easy to maintain and loved the feeling of freshly cut hair.

Having really short hair should be a a statement. Especially in this time and era and not just for fashion.

You don't need a £300/$600 weave. But if you do then rock it.

But this year i'm feeling to do this again.

I have not done makeup for ages...

I think thats what me and my mum have noticed the most. I try to induce myself into art so something else doesn't get my attention and then I overthink everything.... whatever.

So i've been picking up the acoustic guitar and strumming away tabs and chords. Tryna jam and freestyle etc etc

*urgh I hate the graveyard shift* ....
see! Thats my attention span... LOL
Anywho. To cut the story short and keep it sweet. De-cluttering would elp in anything really.

Im a creative so being able to vent artisticly (yeah its my word) would be something i'd enjoy. I'm gonna focus on that... (and making money)

I really need to get with the programme and that is Blogging... I was thinking to myself that I should write things down more so that I can vent even if nobody reads my sh*t.

I can't believe its 2009 already. So crazy... Next month I'm 23 and time is flying!

So this year, what has happened so far?

With awesome photographer Nick Goold, beautiful and talented Alison Cain and the wonderful Amber- Rose for Hairstyling.

My art has been featured in Drama Magazine and... wait for it my teacher Lucy at London College of Fashion has asked me to do a presentation.... PRESENTATION to the WHOLE class!

It was GREAT, the students asked me questions, I kept it funky with them telling them about my personalised path so far and helped them with their concerns. It was cool. I really enjoyed it and appreciated the opportunity.

Its hard having a full time job that doesnt involve your passion but I know that God has a plan for me.

ALSO!!! OH YEAAAH HOW COULD I FORGET! I had my M.A.C. interview and they basically didnt hire me.

They said that I was "super talented" and that I "had the best work out of all the interviews so far" My "personality was fantastic" and my face looked "flawless"... but...wait for it...

Not enough retail skills....

Wow.

My feelings were a lil' hurt but I got over it.

"One one door closes, another door opens" and i truly believe that.

I also did a photoshoot with Thomas Sels from Super Super and Dave Purgas, t'was very cool. Can't wait to see the pictures.

So this week i'm back at the College with Lucy, can't wait! I'll upload some pics!

Note to self: Buy a photography camera!

My life as a makeup artist... a learning process. I have come far since finishing my course at London College of Fashion; Promotional Guide to Makeup Artistry.

I just want to be up there with the best makeup artists. Pat McGrath is my mentor (she just doesn't know it yet).
I cannot wait to move to the States and do makeup full time. That is my main goal. Visioning your goal is the starting point. The rest as they say is history.

My work will be in Australian lifestyle magazine Acclaim.
